Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing The Laundromutt to groom your pet. My priority is the welfare of dogs in my care and to maintain client satisfaction. I aim to give you and your dog the best possible service I can.

I require all clients to complete a Client Registration Card. It is important that the information you provide is correct and complete and you must make me aware of anything I need to know about your pet’s behaviour. Please advise me of any relevant changes each time you bring your pet in.

By completing a Client Registration Card, you confirm your agreement to these Terms and Conditions and that I may rely on the information you have provided.

I will not share your information with any other organisation. However, from time to time I may contact you by phone, text, email or post with news, offers and service updates. I may also photograph your pet and use the images on The Laundromutt’s social media pages. Please let me know if you do not wish to receive such information or do not want me to use images of your pet.

I keep client records for 7 years and then destroy them. You have the right to request any information I hold about you. I will provide copies within 30 days.

At the time of your pet’s appointment please ensure that they are fit, healthy and all vaccinations are up to date. Grooming of sick, elderly or pregnant dogs is entirely at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing/underlying skin or health problems that I cannot be held liable for. I will advise you to contact your vet for further advice.

Pets are not to be fed 2 hours prior to their appointment and please ensure they are adequately toileted.

Minor mat removal is part of the normal grooming service provided. However, in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act (2006) Section 5, which states that ‘all animals are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease’, attempting to brush out heavy matting would cause an animal tremendous stress and discomfort. Instead I may recommend that a complete clip down is the best course of action. Clipping down/shaving the coat is quicker and kinder to the dog. Many dogs are traumatised by unnecessary hours of de-matting, putting them off grooming for life. A clip down will dramatically change your dog’s appearance as their hair will be short and close to the skin but consider it an act of kindness.

If your pet becomes ill whilst in my care I may call a vet and unless it can be clearly shown that The Laundromutt is liable, all vet costs shall be at the owner’s expense.

I may refuse to groom a pet that presents a risk of injury to themselves or myself.

Payment must be made on collection of your pet. I accept cash and major debit and credit cards. I reserve the right to charge the full cost of a groom, in lieu of a cancellation fee, if you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice or fail to arrive for your appointment. Whilst I am completely flexible with prior agreement, I do expect clients to drop off and collect their dogs in a timely manner.
